The Wharf Housekeeping Units are nestled just across the wharf at French River, one of the most photographed areas in PEI. The Wharf Housekeeping Units offer an old fashioned cottage-like experience in our 2 two bedroom housekeeping units in a duplex cottage. Perfect for a couples golf retreat, kayak enthusiast, water sports, large families and those that want an unique Island experience. The units can be adjoining to open up to a single 4 bedroom cottage.
French River is 10 miles west of Cavendish on P.E.I.’s north shore and is surrounded by a number of beautiful public beaches, just minutes away from “The Wharf”. We also offer complimentary National Park Passes for our guests use while they stay with us. There is a family style golf course near the village, plus four championship style courses all within a 15 mile radius.
If you are an Anne fan, the village of French River is right in the middle of Anne's Land. The “Anne of Green Gables Museum along with Matthew's Carriage Rides (the homestead, owned by Lucy Maud Montgomery’s aunt and uncle where she spent her summers writing and relaxing and where she was married) is just 1 mile north on Route 20 and the Lucy Maud Birthplace just 4 miles east in New London.
The resort community of Cavendish is only 10 miles from French River and offers a number of attractions and theme parks, such as Green Gables, Sandspit, Shining Waters, Cavendish Room Escape. There is also The Cavendish Tourist Mart open June - Sept 15th. The cities of Charlottetown and Summerside are 45 minutes and 30 minutes respectively, from French River. The town of Kensington sits 10 miles to the west and has eateries, grocery stores, a pharmacy, Tim Hortons, Robins, Greco, Subway.
If you are a foodie, make sure you visit The Table Culinary Studio in New London (4 miles away) a short 5 minute drive. Its an experience you don't want to miss.
